Flamenco Festival

The festival is held by the Nîmes theatre and features some of the greatest Spanish artists of the day. It is an opportunity for many talented singers, guitarists, and dancers who maintain the tradition of this Andalusian art in the South of France to perform and celebrate their art. While most flamenco shows in France are only interested in performers from Spain, the Nîmes Flamenco Festival also draws upon the talent of regional artists.
Dates: January 21st-27th, 2008.

Pentecost Feria
Held since 1952, the Féria, in true Spanish style, combines bullfighting, bull running, concerts, and improvised events. Famous throughout Europe, it draws an enormous crowd every year. Dozens of 'bodegas' (improvised bars) spring up all over the town and people gather to drink Pastis (a local aniseed-flavored drink), sangria and fino, dry sherry from Spain.  The town pulses with excitement and everyone joins in the music and dancing.
Dates: May 7th-12th 2007
